A Song In Progress
How it Started
Hey Revolutionaries!
We are deep into pre-production madness at the moment, so this post will be short & sweet! It’s a quick glimpse into the work Jack (my husband & music director) & I do to prepare a song before we present it to any other musicians we’ll be working with. This work is gritty, not always “nice” or “easy” & very very rough, in terms of the sounds. Think of it like an artist who has an idea for an image that will go onto a giant canvas, but the artist has to make a rough sketch first.
This is our rough sketch.
The song we’re working on is an old Mexican folk song I found online. The song title is “El Corrido de Juan Reyna”. Part of our mission with this album is to highlight a bit of Mexican culture, since this beautiful country has allowed us to immigrate & welcomed us with open arms.
