Hello Revolutionaries!

Last week I shared a bit of information about a song that we’ve decided to record on my next album. I shared a video with my paid subscribers that let you inside the process of what it takes to make a song “my own”, & how my husband & I work together to create something brand new.

As I told you last week, we found a brilliant Mexican folk song titled “El Corrido de Juan Reyna” that was just too timely for me to pass up, so Jack & I got to work making our own version of this true, & very sad story for our album.

L to R: Jack’s hand on the upright, Ale on guitar, the author, Yala on violin

I also mentioned that I am completely overwhelmed with the preparation for heading into the studio in a couple weeks … & so, admittedly, these next few posts here will be short & sweet! Some video of us working, a cute photo or two & ideally, once we get into the actual recording process, I’ll be able to upload photos & video clips from that (assuming I’m not exhausted). But I promise … I will be doing my best to give you, my paid subscribers & supporters, as much of the inside scoop as I can manage. :-)

So here’s what happened in the next phase of our work on “El Corrido de Juan Reyna”.
